Crimes of theft include such
offenses as burglary, robbery, obtaining by larceny, embezzlement,
or shoplifting. Under Pennsylvania
law it is unlawful for anyone to steal, take or carry
away the personal property of another. Theft can also be
the fraudulent appropriation of property entrusted to
you, as well as defrauding a person of personal
property, real property, money or labor by false or
fraudulent representation or pretense. There are two
classifications for theft; petty theft and grand theft.
If you or someone you know has been charged with a theft
crime or is about to be charged with a theft crime, you
need legal representation immediately. This would even
include a charge of shoplifting which would appear in
your criminal record and may have future implications
with job employment.
Through intelligent research
and effective strategy, Steven E. Kellis works to poke
holes in a prosecutor‚s case. He will explore leads in
your defense that investigators may have ignored. At
every step, he will keep you informed of where the case
is and where it needs to go.
Burglary and theft are
serious charges. The range of potential punishments for
individuals accused of burglary and theft can vary
greatly, depending on the defenses set forth. Not only
does the prosecution have to prove all the required
elements of a burglary or theft charge, but the
defendant also has to make sure that he or she is
represented by an attorney who knows the proper defenses
for each individual case.
Steven E. Kellis has over 13
years of experience with this area of criminal defense,
and he knows what the prosecution must prove and how to
get your case dismissed when they have not. He can also
make sure that each proper defense is asserted if your
case does move forward, to give you the best chance of
receiving an acquittal or at least facing the lightest
possible level of punishment.
